Privacy-First Design: Your Data Stays Local

Being fast and pretty isn't enough these days. A modern tool has to be built with trust at its core. That means a huge focus on privacy, safety, and features that are actually helpful.

100% Local Processing

DiskLens is completely local. Here's what that means:

• ✓ No servers - We don't have any servers receiving your data
• ✓ No network calls - The app works completely offline
• ✓ No analytics - We don't track how you use the app
• ✓ No account required - Just download and use

The only network call DiskLens makes is an optional check for updates (which you can skip). Even that only fetches a small JSON file with version info - it never sends anything about your system.

Read-Only By Design

This part is super important.

The app only reads your file system to gather size information. It never:

• Deletes files
• Moves files
• Renames files
• Modifies file contents
• Changes permissions

This means you can scan any drive - even sensitive ones - without worrying about accidental damage. DiskLens is a pure observer.

What About the Cache?

DiskLens does cache scan results locally to speed up re-scans. This cache:

• Is stored only on your computer
• Contains only file paths and sizes (no contents)
• Can be cleared anytime from Settings
• Is never uploaded anywhere

No Telemetry. Ever.

Many apps today collect "anonymous usage data" to improve their products. We don't.

Trust Through Transparency

We believe privacy shouldn't require trust - it should be verifiable. That's why:
