5 Ways to Visualize Your Disk Space

From donut charts to sunburst views - discover which visualization works best for finding your space hogs.

DiskLens gives you multiple ways to look at your data. Each view has its strengths. Here's when to use each one.

🍩

1. Donut Chart

Think of this as your command center. It gives you that instant 30,000-foot view of your drive.

Best for: Quick check-ins. See your biggest folders at a glance with the total size displayed right there in the middle.

🥧

2. Pie Chart

The classic. All about simplicity and power. It's designed to do one thing really well: show you the biggest space hogs.

Best for: When you need to quickly see which folders are taking up the most space. Your eyes are immediately drawn to those huge slices.

☀️

3. Sunburst View

This one might be our favorite! Perfect for when you need to go exploring.

Each ring is another level deeper into your folder structure. Click on a segment and drill down, layer by layer.

Best for: Being a data detective. Follow the trail to find that one massive hidden folder buried deep in your directory structure.

🎯

4. Radial Bar Chart

A unique way to see hierarchical data. Concentric rings show folder sizes with a beautiful 3D effect.

Best for: Comparing folder sizes at the same level. Great for visual learners who want to see relative proportions clearly.

📋

5. Top 50 List

Sometimes you don't want a pretty chart. You just want answers.

The Top 50 list cuts right to the chase. It shows you the single biggest files in the entire area you scanned. Period.

Best for: The fastest way to find a few big things to delete and free up a ton of space. No exploration needed.

Bonus: File Types View

There's another great feature: you can group everything by file type. With just one click, see if most of your space is being eaten up by videos, zip files, or photos.

It's another quick way to understand the kind of stuff you have, not just where it's located.
